Competency Models
Competencies impact the business imperatives and
are affected by the business imperatives.
Competency Models are simple visual and verbal
representations of the most critical core and functional
knowledge, skills, and personal characteristics
stated in behavioral terms that drive effective
performance with respect to a strategic context,
set of work outputs and client/customer deliverables
for a specific career family or task.
The models include selection criteria including
the competencies, and suggested education and work
experience; development opportunities including
potential projects; roles and responsibilities;
and career options. Everything in a competency model
should align with the Values, Vision, and Mission
of an organization.
